About Beauty is Me:

Beauty is Me (BiM) is a transformative program designed to nurture cultural identity and promote self-love among children and youth who identify as Black or biracial and aims to empower parents, caregivers, guardians, and other adults to do the same.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Workshop Facilitator/Educator with lived experience, to lead a series of impactful workshops and activities for caregivers and professionals that support black children. This individual will also identify the needs of

participants connect these caregivers with essential community resources to support children who identify as Black. This role involves working closely with both children and their families, helping them explore their identity, build self-esteem, and celebrate their

unique beauty and strength. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, a strong leader, and a nurturing mentor, someone who naturally creates safe, empowering spaces for growth across all ages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and facilitate engaging group sessions that reflect Beauty is Me's mission and program objectives.

• Cultivate an inclusive and supportive environment where participants feel seen, heard, and valued.

• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication to effectively guide discussions and manage documentation.

• Manage group time efficiently while maintaining flexibility to adapt as needed.

• Lead by example, modeling integrity, empathy, and respectful leadership.

• Offer mentorship and guidance to participants, helping them build confidence and emotional resilience.

• Collaborate with the program team to assess session impact and contribute to ongoing improvement.

• Maintain accurate records of attendance, feedback, and participant progress.

• Attend meetings on behalf of Beauty is Me

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in group facilitation, youth and/or adult mentorship, counseling, education, or related fields.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong time management abilities, with the capacity to balance structure and spontaneity.

• Demonstrated leadership and mentorship experience, particularly in community-based settings.

• Passion for empowering others and promoting self-worth, cultural pride, and identity.

• Ability to navigate diverse group dynamics with grace and professionalism.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when needed.

• Comfort with virtual platforms and digital tools for online facilitation, when needed.

• A Vulnerable Sector Police Check is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with youth and adults in educational, mentorship, or community-based settings.

• Background in education, social work, psychology, or community development.

• Familiarity with issues impacting marginalized communities, particularly Black and biracial individuals.

• Creativity in program delivery and ability to connect with participants from all walks of life.
